As a child, I did not grow up in the church, but I always had a desire to help those in need. I had a desire to travel to different countries to provide food or shelter for people facing difficult situations. When I surrendered my life to the Lord, that desire grew stronger—especially after learning about mission trips. Although I am currently unable to travel outside the United States to serve in the way I once envisioned, the Lord has shown me that I can still make a meaningful impact in a different way.
“You don’t have to travel across the world to make a difference — you just have to obey the voice of God.”
When I heard Pastor Alex speak about an upcoming mission trip to Chile, my heart was filled with joy as he shared about the young people eagerly anticipating their youth camp. In that moment, I felt the Lord speak to my heart: “Give.” I didn’t hesitate, because I knew it was from Him, and I needed to be obedient. While I may not be able to be there physically, I can still contribute through a special offering.
The Lord has taught me that “it is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). I’ve seen the amazing things God has done in my own life, and I believe He will move powerfully among the young people in Chile. I encourage others, especially the youth, to open their hearts to giving. Even a small donation is a seed that can blossom in someone’s life. Missionaries dedicate their lives to spreading God’s Word—why not be a blessing to them and their families?
